During a routine inspection

People who used the service and some people's relatives we spoke with told us that they were more than satisfied with the care provided. People told us that the care was 'excellent' and one person said 'I couldn't ask for more'. People told us that they like their carers because they were 'respectful', 'polite', 'friendly' and 'conscientious'. All the people we spoke with told us that they had regular care staff who arrived on time and respected their privacy and dignity. People told us they were involved in the initial assessment and care plan reviews and knew how to complain if they were unhappy.

We found that people were treated with respect and people were involved and were able to make decisions about their care and support. People's needs were assessed and care was planned to meet their needs. We found that the provider had a safeguarding vulnerable adult's policy in place and staff were aware of their responsibility to protect vulnerable adults from abuse. Support was in place for staff induction, training and supervision. The provider had systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service provided.

During a routine inspection

People we spoke with, and their family members, told us that they received a good service from the agency. People told us the manager monitored the service frequently and they were happy with the care they received. Staff and people using the service told us there were regular checks on staff competency, although this was not documented at the time of our inspection.

On our visit we found that people were involved in the planning of their care and received safe and appropriate care. Staff we spoke with were suitably supported and the provider made regular checks on the quality of the service.
