Date of assessment: 16 July to 23 July 2025.
Quality Support Solutions Limited is a domiciliary homecare agency. It provides personal care to adults living in their own homes, so that they can live as independently as possible. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive the regulated activity of personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of this assessment 19 people were receiving support with personal care.
There were systems in place to safeguard people from potential harm. People received safe care and support and risks of experiencing avoidable harm were reduced by the provider's risk assessments and risk management plans. Staff had been recruited safely and there were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience to support people. Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to carry out their role effectively. Staff were provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect people from the risk of cross infection. Staff managed medicines well and people received their medication as prescribed.
People were involved in planning and reviewing the support they needed. Staff worked with other agencies involved in people’s care for the best outcomes and smooth transitions when moving between services. Leaders and staff had a shared vision and culture based on listening, learning and trust. Staff understood their roles and responsibilities. There were audits and checks in place which were effective in identifying shortfalls and driving improvements.

People gave us positive feedback about their experience of the service and told us how caring and supportive the staff were. One person said, “The carers are so lovely and take every care to make sure I’m well looked after. They do lots of little things for me as well. If I run out of milk they will go and get some for me. I couldn’t ask for better.” A relative commented, “The carers are professional, caring, experienced and very kind. I have peace of mind knowing that [family member] is in safe hands.”
People’s needs were regularly reviewed to ensure their care was effective. People told us the staff knew them well and that where possible people received care from the same staff. One person commented, “I see the same girls and they have become like family to me. I know them and they know me and what I like, and how I like my care to be done. I didn’t want carers at first but now I wouldn’t be without them.”
People told us they received their care calls on time and if staff were going to be late, they were informed. People were supported to remain as independent as possible and 1 person said, “The carers are very patient and have helped me to improve my mobility. They encourage me to walk and do things for myself where I can. I’m grateful for that.” People and families were involved in planning the care provided and were encouraged to feedback regularly about the care and support they received.
People felt safe from the risks of ill treatment or abuse. Everyone we spoke with told us they would feel comfortable reporting something they were not happy about. The provider was responsive to comments and suggestions for improvement. People were confident if they needed to raise anything, the management team would take their comments seriously and respond positively.
