CQC register RNIB Pears Centre for Specialist Learning to carry out the following legally regulated services here:

Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care

Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

The registered provider must review all service users� risk assessments including, but not limited to, the use of equipment and the safe moving of service users no less frequently than once per fortnight. Assessments must be undertaken by a person registered as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Equipment required to ensure service users� safety must be checked no less frequently than once per day to ensure that it will be available to staff in a state fit for immediate use (and a record kept of that check).

The registered provider must implement a dependency tool to assess the number of staff required to work at 5 Pears Court. Individual service users� needs assessments must be used and aggregated to determine staffing levels to be maintained at all times. Assessments must be undertaken by a person registered as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. The registered provider must notify CQC if staffing levels are ever lower than the level determined by them as necessary according to the staffing assessment.

A person registered as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council must be available to advise or assist in 5 Pears Court at all times.

The registered provider must provide CQC with a report by 5pm on 19 April 2018 outlining the measures implemented to meet these conditions. The provider must provide an updated report at the end of each following 7 day period.

Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity

The registered provider must ensure that the regulated activity "Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care and Treatment of disease, disorder and injuries"

is managed by an individual who is registered as a manager in respect of that activity at or from RNIB Pears Centre for Specialist Learning.

The registered provider must only accommodate a maximum of 6 service users at RNIB Pears Centre for Specialist Learning.
