During a routine inspection

People told us they were happy with the support provided and were involved with their treatment and support needs. People had contributed their preferences and their experiences were taken into account in relation to how care, treatment and support were delivered. One person told us, 'They always ask for permission and I signed to say I agree with the treatment.'

People experienced treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights. People's treatment and support plans contained a good level of information that ensured their needs were being met. We spoke with three people who used the service and they told us they were happy with the treatment and support they received. One person told us, 'They are very caring; my treatment is the right path for me. They never pressure or rush me.'

Prescriptions were given to people appropriately. People we spoke with said they received their prescriptions on time and when they needed it. One person told us, 'I always get my prescriptions on time and it is always correct.' The provider had clear guidance that outlined how prescriptions should be issued. Staff we spoke with said they had received appropriate training.

We found people were supported by sufficient numbers of qualified, skilled and experienced staff which met people's needs. People we spoke with said there were always enough staff to help them when they needed support.

There were quality monitoring programmes in place, which included people giving feedback about their care, support and treatment. This provided a good overview of the quality of the services provided.

During a routine inspection

People's privacy and dignity were respected. We observed staff treating people with respect, being polite and courteous. There was a supportive atmosphere between staff and the people who used the service. People had contributed their preferences and their experiences were taken into account in relation to how care was delivered. One person told us, 'I feel involved in my treatment and they give me advice that is in my best interests.'

People experienced treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights. People's support plans contained a good level of information that ensured their needs were met. We spoke with two people and they told us they were happy with the treatment and support they received. One person told us, 'They have been a lifesaver.'

People who used the service were protected against the risk of unlawful or excessive control or restraint because the provider had made suitable arrangements. All staff had received training in abuse awareness and protecting vulnerable adults and children. The two people we spoke with told us they felt safe when at the service.

People were treated by staff who were supported to deliver care safely and to an appropriate standard. Staff had a programme of on going training, supervision and appraisal.
