During a routine inspection
Patients' health records were found to be detailed and provided information that would allow specialist clinical staff to care for that patient. Facilities were available for foreseeable medical emergencies to support patients with their emergency life support and breathing in the event of a medical emergency.
The provider followed Department of Health (DH) guidance for infection control. Patients we spoke with confirmed to us that staff wore personal protective clothing and that instruments used during the clinical procedures were removed from sealed packaging. We saw that appropriate hand hygiene facilities were provided in the treatment room we visited.
The provider ensured that Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and identity checks were completed for all staff prior to them commencing their employment with the service. Patients we spoke with told us they felt that the staff were confident and competent to carry out vasectomies.
The provider conducted a patient satisfaction survey on all its patients. The majority of comments provided were positive about the quality and safety of treatment and care provided. Patients we spoke with told us that they had never had cause to complain.
