During a routine inspection

We spoke with six patients who had attended the practice on the day of the inspection. Most of them were happy with the dental care and treatment they received. Comments included, " It's excellent" and "It's very good. Really friendly and he (the dentist) puts you at ease." The patients told us that the dentists were very thorough and explained things to them. They said most of the time they were told how much their treatment would cost. We saw that patients were given written treatment plans which detailed the costs of both private and NHS options.

Patients who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse. We saw that the practice had policies and procedures in place for safeguarding vulnerable adults and children. The staff we spoke with understood the relevance of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in dentistry.

The practice had effective policies and procedures in place for controlling the risk of infection. We observed that the treatment rooms in the practice were kept clean and hygienic. One patient said, "It's very very clean, very clinical."
