Our view of the service
We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection on 23 September 2025. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.
We had previously undertaken an announced on-site inspection of DK Dental Practice on 20 May 2025. We had found the registered provider was not providing safe and well-led care and was in breach of regulations 12 (Safe care and treatment), 17 (Good governance), 18 (Staffing), and 19 (Fit and Proper persons employed) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
During our follow-up inspection, we found the practice had not met regulations.
The practice did not have effective systems to identify and manage risks.
Recruitment procedures did not wholly reflect current legislation and there was ineffective leadership.
The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of CQC regulation and are not covered in our inspection.
The practice is in Weymouth and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice is on the first floor and accessed via a flight of stairs. Car parking spaces are available near the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 6 staff, of which there was 1 dentist, 1 hygienist/therapist, 1 trainee dental nurse, 1 dental technician, 1 receptionist and a practice manager. Another dentist and trainee nurse were due to start in the next few weeks. We spoke with the practice manger and the receptionist.
The provider was still not complying with regulations. Full details of how the provider was not meeting the regulations are within this report.
In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we may publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded.
