During a routine inspection

We spoke with six people who used the service or their representatives, three care workers, a quality supervisor and the registered manager. We also looked at a number of records including people's personal records, staff records and records in relation to the management of the service.

People we spoke with were very satisfied with the service and their care workers. People told us that care workers were reliable and competent and that care workers knew what support was required. We were told that care workers treated people with dignity and respect. People were comfortable allowing care workers into their homes.

We looked at the records of three people who used the service and found that care had been planned and delivered in a way that promoted people's health and welfare.

We found that staff had been appropriately screened to ensure they were suitable to work with vulnerable adults. Staff we spoke with demonstrated a good understanding of the needs of people who used the service and were positive about their role.

The provider had appropriate arrangements in place to ensure that people were protected from the risk of abuse and that any allegation of abuse was appropriately responded to. We also found that the provider had an effective and appropriate quality assurance system in place.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with a relative and a person using the agency's services. Two other people said they did not wish to speak with us, so their wishes were respected.

The people we spoke with told us the staff were kind, caring and respectful at all times.

They said the staff were flexible and reliable, and said the agency worked hard to try and provide a consistent group of staff to work with people. A relative commented to us, "the staff make people feel warm, happy and comfortable, pretty much without exception." Both of the people we spoke with told us that the agency provided very good quality care that met their needs.

The people we spoke with needed minor assistance or a reminder to take their medication. They told us the staff provided this assistance and made sure they took their medication on time.

Both of the people we spoke with were full of praise for the staff. They told us the staff

were warm, caring and seemed well trained. One person told us, "I think the care staff

really understand (my relative's) needs, they seem confident and calm and they deliver

care in such a warm and pleasant way, they are very professional at what they do."

People told us they were regularly asked for their views on the care being delivered.

They both said if they had any concerns they would raise it with a manager and they felt confident it would be addressed. They were both very satisfied with the service and could not think of any improvements to the care being dleivered.
