During a routine inspection

We spent time with the manager throughout the first day of our visit. They were knowledgeable about people who used the agency, policies, procedures and systems in place to ensure the continued smooth running of the service.

On the second day of the inspection we spoke with people who used the agency and staff. People were positive about the service provided and didn't express any concerns with us. Staff we spoke with had worked for the agency between two to four years. They told us they were 'happy' and enjoyed working for the agency and that people they supported 'always came first'.

We also looked at some written comments that had been received from relatives who had recently completed surveys. These included 'My relative is very happy with care provided', 'I would like to thank you on behalf of my relative for looking after them, it gives great peace of mind to me and my family' and 'You are very friendly to my relative and very reliable'.

It was a positive inspection and the provider was compliant in all four outcomes that we looked at.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with six people receiving a service. We did this by visiting people in their homes and by contacting people on the telephone. Comments were positive about the care and support they received. One person told us "the staff are wonderful, staff are so very kind". Another person told us 'staff always arrive spot on time and always stay their allotted time'.

We spent time with the manager, a team leader and home care staff, they demonstrated how well they understood people's needs. They told us how they ensured people were supported in line with their assessed needs and preferences. These had been well recorded and kept under review.

We checked how the service was administering medication and found this was done safely.

People were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.

People had been given information on how to raise concerns. Comments and complaints people made would be responded to appropriately.
