During an inspection looking at part of the service

We visited the service to follow up the progress made since our last inspection on 6 December 2012 when we issued a compliance action regarding safeguarding policies and staff safeguarding training.

At this visit we saw the provider had taken action to address the concerns raised at our last inspection.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two patients, one doctor and receptionist and the registered manager during our short notice announced visit to The Westover Wandsworth. People told us that they had been using the service for many years. One person said they "chose to come here because it was local and stayed because the appointments are so flexible and the doctors are so supportive". People told us that they were seen in private and felt that their dignity was respected. We saw that doors were closed during consultations. People had the treatment options and fees explained to them clearly.

Staff confirmed that they had a Criminal Records Bureau check and references taken up before they started work and said they had the training and support they needed to do their job.
