Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
Hampton House Dental Practice is in Leicester and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
A portable ramp was used to gain access to the practice to support patients with mobility needs, and car parking spaces were available.

At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 23 staff, of which there were 8 dentists (including an orthodontist and endodontist), 9 dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist, 3 receptionists, an administrator and the practice manager. Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 16 patients. On the day of our inspection, we saw patient feedback routinely collected by the practice. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included, “An excellent dental practice which I have attended for more than 30 years with the same dentist. [Clinician] is a true professional with a very friendly manner and he has been superb for my whole family. Happy to recommend the practice.” Also, “I’m a very nervous patient. Staff here are so understanding and help to ease the stress. Also, will see you quickly if ever in pain. Good communication with reception too who are always very good.”
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.
Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. Comments included, “I have been seeing [clinician] at Hampton House for many years now and he has always been excellent and no concerns with the care he delivers. He answers my questions and is very clear about what steps he is taking and why. The reception staff are always very friendly and helpful and the building is nice, clean and tidy. I haven't had to wait long at all when I've needed an appointment outside of my regular check-ups.”
Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given.
Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
