Our view of the service
Windsor Court Care Home is registered to provide care and support for up to 48 people. The service provides residential care for older people, some of whom are living with dementia. This was a planned inspection, and we included all the quality statements under each of the 5 key questions. The inspection took place on the 27 August and 28 August 2025. At the time of this inspection, there were 42 people living at the service. The service had safe systems in place which meant people were protected from avoidable harm. People’s rights were respected, and they were supported to make choices. A blended training programme meant staff had the necessary skills and knowledge to provide care. Safeguarding procedures were in place. The service learned from accidents, incidents and events. Recruitment processes were in place; however, the providers policy was not always followed. The registered manager strengthened the process during the inspection, and we were assured by the improvements made. People received their medicines as prescribed, and processes for ensuring safe monitoring of medicines were strengthened during the inspection. People had access to health and social care professionals to ensure their wellbeing. People’s rights were fully respected, and consent was sought. Staff were kind and caring, treating people with dignity and respect. People had access to a wide range of activities. People enjoyed enough to eat and drink. Feedback was sought from everyone and used to shape the service. Partnership working and links were made, and the service and staff was passionate about working within their local community and charitable efforts. Governance systems were in place to ensure oversight, including at provider level. There was confidence in the registered manager and management team.
We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
People's experience of this service
People told us they were safe and enjoyed their time at Windsor Court Care Home, their relatives agreed, they were reassured their loved ones were happy living at the service. Staff treated people as individuals and with dignity, kindness and respect. People told us there was plenty of activities on offer. People received their medicines as prescribed. They told us they enjoyed the food and had enough to drink. Relatives and visitors to the service were complimentary about the staff and management team and told us they were available to them when needed.
