During an inspection looking at part of the service

This was a follow up inspection. We did not need to speak to any people who used the service to see whether the service had followed issues which had been not met at the last inspection.

This was a positive inspection. The essential standards we inspected with regard to promoting people's care and welfare, having fully effective systems in place regarding safeguarding people, providing comprehensive staff training and having an effective quality control system, had been met on this inspection.

17 October 2013

During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people who used the service. They all told us they were satisfied, with the care they received.

A person told us that staff were good at their jobs. 'staff are always there if I have a problem'.

We spoke with the relatives of four people. They all told us that care was good, staff seemed to be well trained and they knew how to provide proper care.

One relative said; 'I am pleased with the support we get from the agency'.

This was a mixed positive inspection. People we spoke with told us they were satisfied with the care they received. All their relatives we spoke with said that care supplied by the agency was good. However, the essential standards we inspected with regard to fully promoting people's care and welfare, having fully effective systems in place regarding safeguarding people, providing comprehensive staff training and having an effective quality control system, had not been met. The provider was found to be very proactive in dealing with these issues after we inspected the agency. We will, therefore, be expecting these issues to have been addressed when we make a follow-up inspection.

There were some suggestions made; for more staff supervisions to be carried out and more staff meetings to be organised. Also, for training to be provided on people's mental health conditions.

6 July 2012

During an inspection in response to concerns

We carried out a responsive inspection of the service. This was because we had received information that the service was not properly training its staff or taking up proper checks on staff to ensure the safety of people who use the service.

The service was registered in February 2012. At the time of this inspection we found that the service was providing care to three people. One person was not available to speak with as she went out for the day. Another person could not be spoken with because of communication difficulties. We spoke with one person on the telephone about his view of the care provided.

The person we spoke with was very satisfied with the care supplied by the service. Staff were all seen as friendly and helpful.

This person said: ''It's all top-notch. It couldn't be better'.

We also spoke with one relative. This person said: 'My daughter is very happy. If anything needs sorting out, we discuss it'.

We spoke with a person's social worker. The social worker informed us that the agency was working well in ensuring that the standard of care for his client was good.
