The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects services where personal care is provided this includes assistance with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where applicable, any wider social care provided is also considered. At the time of assessment, the service was supporting 2 people.
People received personalised care and support from a service that placed people at the centre of care delivery. Care plans were detailed, regularly reviewed and reflected people's needs, preferences, risks and desired outcomes. People and relatives were involved in care planning and described staff as kind, patient and respectful, with support delivered in a way that promoted dignity, choice and independence.
Systems were in place to keep people safe. Risk assessments, safeguarding processes, infection prevention and control measures, and medicines management arrangements supported the safe delivery of care. Staff demonstrated a good understanding of their responsibilities and were confident in reporting concerns and responding to changes in people's needs.
People benefited from consistent staffing arrangements which promoted continuity of care and helped develop positive relationships between people and staff. Recruitment records confirmed appropriate pre-employment checks were completed, and staff received training, supervision and competency assessments to support them in their roles.
Communication between staff, people, relatives and partner professionals supported coordinated care and positive outcomes. Feedback from people and relatives was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting improvements in wellbeing, independence, social engagement and overall quality of life.
The provider had governance and quality assurance systems in place to monitor the safety and quality of the service. Audits, spot checks, supervision, feedback and regular reviews were used to identify learning, monitor performance and drive continuous improvement. Staff spoke positively about leadership within the service and described an open and supportive culture where concerns could be raised and learning shared.
