During a routine inspection

The agency was providing care to around 60 people in Tower Hamlets. We spoke with ten people who used the service or their relatives. People told us they were happy with the service. One person said, "they are brilliant. They look after me really well." Another person said, "they come on time, leave on time, ring up and write down what they've done. ... Honestly they are excellent." Several people described their care workers as "lovely".

People using the service said they had information about the service and were asked for their consent. They said the staff respected their wishes and did not rush them.The agency assessed people's needs and any risks associated with their care and these assessments were reflected in the care plans.

The agency had policies and procedures in place to support staff who were supporting people with their medicines. The agency had recently reviewed its procedures following a medication error.

The agency had effective recruitment procedures for new staff. Managers monitored the service and checked that staff were following people's care plans appropriately. People using the service were asked for their feedback. The agency used information about its performance to improve the service.

During a routine inspection

The agency had recently been awarded a block contract by Tower Hamlets council and was providing personal care to around fifty people. We spoke with six people who use the service or their relatives. People told us they were happy with the service. One person said, "[My care worker] is a nice woman. She comes on time and she stops and chats."

People said they were involved in decisions about their care and their care workers respected their wishes. They praised the care workers as friendly and reliable. We noted that care records gave staff clear information to help them to meet people's needs safely.

The agency had policies and procedures in place regarding the safeguarding of vulnerable adults. The staff we spoke with had a good understanding of the signs of abuse and how to report any concerns.

Senior staff monitored the service and checked that staff followed care plans. People using the service were asked for feedback. Staff said they were well supported in their roles with access to training, individual supervision and staff meetings.
