Our view of the service

The Chiltern Medical Clinic Reading is managed by Medical Skin Clinics Ltd. The service is a private clinic specialising in plastic surgery located in Reading, Berkshire.

The service is registered to provide the regulated activities: Surgical procedures, Diagnostic and screening procedures and Treatment of disease, disorder or injury.

The offsite assessment reviewed 5 quality statements in the well led domain, including: shared direction and culture; capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders; freedom to speak up; governance, management and sustainability; and learning, improvement and innovation.

We found a breaches of the legal regulations in relation to governance. We found risks and concerns raised during governance meetings were not sufficiently documented to provide assurances that issues were appropriately mitigated. Where issues and concerns were found, there was no evidence of follow up to ensure completion.

However, the service demonstrated there was learning and improvement since the previous inspection.
