All Inspections

6 February 2014

During a routine inspection

We spoke with the owner of the agency and the office manager during our inspection. We also spoke on the telephone with two people who used the service, two care staff and one relative.

Comments from the people we contacted by telephone included, "I am more than satisfied with the care we are getting, it is outstanding." Another person said, 'We think they are a really marvellous bunch.'

We found that if a person had the capacity to make decisions, they were involved in the planning and delivery of their care. If not, a family member was involved in making decisions on their relative's behalf.

People were cared for, or supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff. A relative of a person who used the service told us, "I am tremendously impressed with the care they take to employ the right people, by that I mean caring, compassionate and professional staff."

The provider had appropriate arrangements in place to manage medicines.

People we spoke with told us that they felt listened to and were happy with the quality of service provided. One person told us, "I find it difficult to find anything to fault."

During a routine inspection

Consent to speak to people who used the service was obtained from the management. We spoke to people by conducting telephone interviews.

We spoke with three people who received care from the agency. All three told us that they found the staff were very kind and caring and all had no complaints about the service. One person told us, "The staff are very kind, they are my angels and I would not be here without them.'

Another person told us, "The service is very good indeed, I could not ask for better.'

People told us that they did not feel rushed and they were given the opportunity to do things for themselves. They said that staff treated them with respect and consideration was given to their privacy and dignity at all times.

We found that the service had effective systems in place to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive.
