We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 8 April 2026.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
The systems to identify and manage Legionella and fire safety risks should be reviewed.
The practice should review the arrangements to manage medical emergencies.
The practice did not have effective systems to review and investigate incidents and accidents.
The practice is in Whitworth, Rochdale and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the premises, ground floor treatment rooms, an accessible toilet and on street parking available near the practice.
The practice had 7 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 25 staff, of which there were 9 dentists (one of whom is in the foundation year at the practice and is overseen by the lead dentist who is qualified to supervise dentists in their first year in practice), 12 dental nurses (including 4 trainees), 2 dental therapists, 1 receptionist and a managing director. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 4 dentists, 4 dental nurses, 1 dental therapist, 1 receptionist and the managing director.
The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of CQC regulation and are not covered in our inspection.
