During a routine inspection

We gave the service two days notice to make sure we could speak with people using the service and staff. We spoke with three people who used the service. One person told us, "the doctor explained everything and any questions I asked he explained well." Another person said, "care was perfect. No complaints."

There were systems in place to ensure people understood practices and procedures before they gave their consent, which meant people were able to make informed decisions about their care and treatment.

People's needs were assessed and a detailed medical history was taken from each person and discussed prior to treatment. Care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual treatment plan. People told us their treatment, any related risks and the costs were explained. One person we spoke with said, "I was involved in the discussion with the doctor. It was definitely a two way thing."

Before people received any care or treatment they knew how much they were expected to pay and what the service will provide. People said they were aware of the fees and services before receiving care and treatment. One person said, "everything discussed was summed up by the doctor and what would happen next. The fees were explained to me."

During a routine inspection

We were not able to speak to people using the service because the regulated activity was not provided at the time of our visit. We gathered evidence of people's experiences of the service by reviewing comment cards. We found that patients were very happy with the service and the quality of their treatment. One person commented, "Doctor [...] took time and worked through my problems and her excellent work helped me sort out my life." Another person said their doctor was "very thorough" and had "lots of time" for them. People felt doctors treated them with dignity and respect.

The clinic followed procedures to protect patients from the risk of infections. Staff were supported in their work and continuously updated their skills and knowledge of their practice. The provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive.
