During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who used the service from Craegmoor Supporting You in East Anglia. Both told us that they were happy with the service they received. One person told us that staff were caring and kind and knew all aspects of their care needs. They told us, 'I like the staff.' We spoke with one relative who was also complimentary about the service provided.

We found that the care plans were reflective of people's care needs. Where people had specific needs such as a mental health condition, we saw that staff had received training that ensured their needs were supported safely.

The provider had good arrangements in place that promoted effective performance of the service. People were asked to provide feedback about the care they received and were supported appropriately to do this. Where improvements could be made to the service the manager had a clear plan in place to ensure improvements were made and within timescales.

We saw that the registered manager showed clear leadership and that all staff were expected to provide a high quality of care to people. The provider ensured that there was a sufficient number of care staff available to meet people's needs for all hours the service was contracted to provide care for.

During an inspection looking at part of the service

This was a follow up inspection to look at the three compliance actions we had made at our inspection on 11 October 2012. At this return visit we found that matters had greatly improved. In November 2012 we received an action plan stating what action would be taken by the provider to reach compliance. At this inspection we found that actions had been put into place.

We found that care plans and risk assessments had been updated. This meant that care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare.

We found that suitable arrangements had been put in place to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

We found that evidence that the service was assessed monitored for quality. This meant we have found this service compliant on all outcomes assessed.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who received a service from this care agency. They told us that they were satisfied with the care and support they received and liked the staff who visited them very much. We also spoke with one relative who told us 'They have been incredibly supportive for all our family and have enabled us to understand more about our relative's condition.'

People who used the service felt confident in raising concerns and believed matters would be resolved.
