Well-led – this means we looked for evidence that service leadership, management and governance assured high-quality, person-centred care; supported learning and innovation; and promoted an open, fair culture. At our last assessment we rated this key question as good. At this assessment the rating has remained as good. This meant the service was consistently managed and well-led. Leaders and the culture they created promoted high-quality, person-centred care.

Shared direction and culture

Governance, management and sustainability

The provider had clear responsibilities, roles, systems of accountability and good governance. They used these to manage and deliver good quality, sustainable care, treatment and support. They acted on the best information about risk, performance and outcomes, and shared this securely with others when appropriate.

Learning, improvement and innovation

Score: 4

The provider had a strong focus on continuous learning, innovation and improvement across the organisation and local system. They always encouraged creative ways of delivering equality of experience, outcome and quality of life for people. They actively contributed to safe, effective practice and research.

The provider worked closely with a range of community organisations and partners to enhance people’s experiences and wellbeing. This included involvement with local care partnerships and working alongside local representatives to raise awareness and improve support for people living with dementia.

People had access to a variety of community initiatives and activities designed to reduce social isolation and promote wellbeing. These included companionship support, weekly seated exercise sessions and educational events within the community on topics such as scam awareness. The provider also worked with organisations including the Jewish Welfare Board to ensure people could access appropriate support and resources.

The provider had developed and participated in a number of innovative dementia-focused initiatives. These included Dementia’s Got Talent events and opening learning opportunities to other professionals to improve understanding of living with dementia.

The provider also demonstrated a commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability. For example, trees were planted to offset staff mileage and reduce the environmental impact of service delivery.

Technology was also being embraced to support innovation, including the use of AI Copilot to assist with administrative processes and service development. In addition, the provider offered a drop-in facility for people, relatives and members of the community, helping to strengthen relationships and improve accessibility.
