People's experience of the service

Updated 5 December 2023

People were involved in the planning of their care and support. Staff understood their responsibilities under safeguarding with respect to identifying potential abuse, escalation and reporting concerns. Risks to people’s health as well as daily living activities were assessed and managed well. People were supported by enough staff who received training to support people’s individual needs. Where some people lacked mental capacity to make certain decisions, they were supported in the least restrictive way, within their best interests and in line with legislation. People were supported and encouraged to be involved in a variety of activities which offered them a range of opportunities specific to their personal interests. Peoples care was person centred and staff ensured that people were involved. People were able to retain their independence and have choice and control over their lives. The provider ensured that people took positive risks to ensure that outcomes were achieved and so that barriers to people’s support were removed or mitigated as much as possible.
