Park House provides a specialist service for people who require rehabilitation because of an acquired brain injury or a neurological condition. There were 14 people using the service at the time of our assessment.
At our last assessment we found 1 breach of regulation of the Health and Social Care Act (2014) in relation to the safe administration of medicines. As part of this assessment, we found improvements had been made and the service was no longer in breach of any regulations.
We looked at 5 quality statements from the safe, effective, caring and well-led key questions and found areas of good practice. Our overall rating remains Good. The scores for these areas have been combined with scores based on the key question ratings from the last inspection.
Staff understood their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding, the provider ensured action was taken to safeguard people following safeguarding referrals being made. People’s medicines were safely managed. People were involved in the planning and delivery of their care and reablement support. Staff completed the training required to ensure they provided care and support in line with best practice. Staff promoted people’s independence in line with their rehabilitation needs, so they had choice and control over their own care, treatment and well-being. There were effective systems in place to monitor the quality of the care provided and to ensure the values; aims and objectives of the service were met.
