Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 14 May 2024

We carried out this assessment between 1 October 2025 and 14 October 2025. Mayfair Care Service is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to people living in their own homes. The service provides personal care and support for older people and younger adults living with physical or sensory disabilities, mental health conditions and dementia, and people with a learning disability and autistic people.

Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of our assessment there were 36 people receiving personal care support.

This assessment was comprehensive covering all the quality statements. The provider was rated good in September 2018, at this assessment the rating remained good.

The registered manager had a robust oversight of key areas such as safeguarding documentation, recruitment records, medicines management and the timing and safety of people's care visits. There were robust systems to monitor the service, to provide a clear oversight of risk and to improve outcomes for people.

The registered manager’s quality assurance system was effective which meant they were able to demonstrate staff were safely recruited, trained and supervised to provide safe care and support for people. People's medicines were managed safely by trained and competent staff and the management team understood their duty and roles in safeguarding people from the risk of harm or abuse.

We inspected the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgments about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found the provider was meeting these values.

People received person centred care and support delivered by a staff team who treated them with dignity and respect. The management team and staff understood how to respond to challenges and barriers to care and support that people might face.

People's relatives said staff were kind, caring and professional. Staff said they were happy working with Mayfair Care Services and felt valued by the management team and their colleagues. There was an open culture where people were able to make changes to their support and give feedback without fear of reprisals.

People's experience of the service

Updated 14 May 2024

People’s relatives said care and support was tailored to people’s needs. This meant people had choice and independence in their daily lives in line with the principles of ‘Right support, right care, right culture’.

People chose not to share feedback about their experiences; however, we received feedback from people's relatives involved in their care. We also reviewed feedback people had shared with the provider via their quality assurance systems.

People's relatives provided positive feedback about the service and the care and support provided. Their comments included, “I knew nothing about care when we were offered Mayfair Care Services. Comments included that Mayfair had approached relatives 'with care and compassion.' A relative said, “They (staff and management) have maintained open conversation and told me if they have had any concerns.”

A relative told us about how staff had supported their family member. They said, “Most of the time the staff are regular, and [person] has got to know them. Occasionally it may be a staff member [person] is not as familiar with if they are covering sickness or holidays, but they are always kind and considerate of [person’s] feelings.”

A relative told us, “I would recommend this company. Mayfair take the morning rush pressure off me which allows me to work, I still see [person] most days however if I am unable to visit or am away on holiday, I feel confident [person] is still cared for and if they have any concerns they will contact me.”
