During a routine inspection

People's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. One person who used the service told us 'I made changes to the hours, they changed in line with my needs, I am definitely in control of my care '. One of the relatives of a person who used the service told us that the service was 'brilliant' and that the staff went 'above and beyond' to meet the individual needs of her relative.

Appropriate arrangements were in place in relation to the recording of medicine. We saw the medication policy and staff were able to explain the procedures that were contained in the policy. We saw that all staff had received training on medication and that this was renewed every year.

Staff received appropriate professional development. All staff received mandatory and statutory training that was relevant to their role. Staff told us they felt supported and that the service provided them with training and development that enabled them to do their jobs well.

People who used the service, their representatives and staff were asked for their views about their care and treatment and they were acted on. We saw that customers were regularly asked to give their views of the service through customer feedback forms. One of the people we spoke with said 'They are always asking me if I am happy with the service X is providing.'

During a routine inspection

We spoke to three relatives and two people who use the service. They said that staff listened to them and provided a service that met their needs. One relative comments were typical when they said, "It is a brilliant service. ' They knew what support would be provided by staff. A person told us, "I get the help I need.'

People who use the service and relatives confirmed that the service regularly contacted them to seek their opinions about the quality of the care being provided. They were consulted about how people's needs would be met. They were able to contact the office at any time and would be listened to by staff.
