Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
1. On the second Monday of every month, the registered provider must provide the Care Quality Commission with audits, in the following areas:
1.1 The identification and completion of decision specific Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest decisions necessary for service users at Tower Bridge Care Centre in relation to covert medication;
1.2 The safe management of medicines in relation to record- keeping, which should include:
• the contemporaneous recording of medicines administration;
• recording of gaps in administration;
• the accurate recording of medicines in stock; and
• the accurate recording of medicines disposals.
1.3 The safe, storage of medication to include:
• the storage of internal and external medicines;
• the maintenance of fridges and fridge temperature gauges; and
• the maintenance of properly working locks on trollies and fridges.
1.4 The safe administration of medicines, which should include:
• administration in accordance with an individual, valid prescription;
• administration within medicine use by dates; and
• recording of medicine opening dates.
1.5 The safe disposal of medicines in line with legal obligations.
1.6 The timely supply of medicines from the supplier/ pharmacy.
. On the second Monday of every month, the registered provider must provide the
Care Quality Commission with an action plan relating to all areas of concern
identified in the completed audits on a monthly basis.
3. On the second Monday of every month, the registered provider must provide the Care Quality Commission with a copy of the training matrix and record of supervision in relation to the use of the eMAR system, recognising service user pain and managing PRN medication, and the administration of insulin and medicine via a PEG feed.
Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The Registered Provider must only Accommodate a maximum of 128 service users at Tower Bridge Care Centre.
