Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 19 June 2026

Date of Assessment: 24 June 2026 to 29 June 2026. We visited the service on 24 June 2026. Above Beyond Care Ltd is a domiciliary care service providing the regulated activity of ‘personal care’ to people living in their own homes. The service provides a personal care service to older people, younger adults and people with a physical disability. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of our assessment there were 23 people using the service and 14 of those people received the personal care regulated activity.

This comprehensive inspection was prompted by a review of the information we held about this service, including the length of time since the last rating. The last inspection report for this service was published 18 July 2018, and the rating was good overall. The key question caring had been rated outstanding at the last two inspections.

The rating for the service at this assessment has remained good overall, and the key question for caring has remained outstanding.

The registered manager and management team continued to provide people with an extremely caring service, where people were seen as unique individuals and the care was tailored to meet their needs and preferences. This ensured positive outcomes for people. Care and compassion were important to the registered manager and this commitment, way of working and ethos was shared by the staff team. As well as providing a very caring service, the registered manager cared about the staff, this ensured staff were supported, happy in their role and provided people with high quality care. People’s views were valued and their independence and choices were always promoted and met.

There were enough trained staff to ensure people’s care visits were undertaken and staff were recruited safely. There were systems in place to reduce the risks of avoidable harm and abuse, this included assessing risks and taking measures to mitigate them. Medicines were managed safely, and systems in place to provide the support people required.

People’s needs were assessed and these were used to inform the care plans, which were kept under review. Where people required support with their meals and to access other professionals, this was provided.

There were systems in place to monitor the service people received, which assisted the management team to identify any shortfalls and address them.
