During a routine inspection

Counted4 was a community interest company that provided a treatment service to people in the community who had a drug or alcohol addiction. The service worked in several sites across Sunderland.

Each person was allocated a key worker to support them with their alcohol detoxification or to support them with their drug treatment. People told us they felt involved and included in their care planning.

One person said, 'I felt I had complete say in it. They took on board what I wanted support with and how I wanted to achieve it.' Another person told us, 'It was all geared towards what I felt comfortable with.'

There were suitable arrangements in place for obtaining the consent of people who used the service in relation to the care and treatment provided to them.

Counted4 employed a wide range of health and social care professionals. The staff we spoke with made positive comments about the training and support they received to carry out their roles.

The provider had effective systems for monitoring the quality and safety of the service. People were protected from the risks of unsafe or inappropriate treatment because records were kept up to date and were confidentially stored.
