During a routine inspection

People who used the service told us they felt involved in their care and support in their own home. All the people told us that the staff treated and respected them when supporting them with their care. One person said when asked about choices, " I asked if the ladies could alter my time and they changed it." The person went on to say that the same carers come all the time unless they are sick or on holiday. The people we spoke to also told us that care was never rushed and the carer would always stop and have a chat with them. This was confirmed by staff telling us that they did not feel rushed when supporting someone and felt they had enough time to do a good job.

People described the service they received as "brilliant" and "excellent and couldn't be better".

Assessment and care plans were in place that people using the service were involved in developing and reviewing. This demonstrated that people experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights.

People who use the service told us they felt safe. However we found that although staff had received training there was a lack of knowledge and understanding on issues relating to safeguarding. Some staff needed an updating of their mandatory training. We saw limited evidence of support to staff following induction to ensure their skills and competencies met the needs of people.

People we spoke to were complimentary about the care they received and surveys supported this.
