During a check to make sure that the improvements required had been made

During our last inspection on 26 February 2014 we found shortfalls in requirements relating to workers. The provider had not carried out criminal record checks for most of their staff prior to employment. Since our last inspection we found that the provider had taken action to ensure all staff had received Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.

During a routine inspection

All the patients we spoke with told us they were satisfied with the level and quality of services being provided by the dentists and staff. They told us the dentists listened to them and talked through treatment options and costs. One person told us 'I am very happy with the way they (dentist) treat'. Another person said that the 'dentist is really good and explains things clearly'.

We found that people understood the care and treatment choices available to them. People's health care needs were assessed and treatment was delivered in line with their individual treatment plan. People were cared for in a clean, hygienic environment. The provider had not completed criminal records checks for most of their staff. People's personal records including medical records were accurate and fit for purpose.
