Our view of the service

We carried out an announced on-site inspection on 20 August 2025. We looked at the provision of sedation services at the practice through an additional remote inspection on 10 September 2025.

We found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

The No8 Partnership is in Chelsea, London and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice, through the use of a portable ramp. There were multiple public transport links in the near vicinity to the practice, and metered car parking spaces were available near the practice.

The practice had 9 treatment rooms. Each of the partners and associates had undergone additional postgraduate training in a variety of dental fields and were all recognised as specialists by the General Dental Council. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 27 staff, of which there were 4 specialist dentist partners (in prosthodontics and periodontics), 1 specialist prosthodontist associate, 1 specialist orthodontist associate, and 1 specialist endodontist associate. In addition, there were 7 dental nurses, 4 dental hygienists, 7 receptionists, the practice manager and an accounts manager. The practice used a visiting anaesthetist to provide sedation services to their patients. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 partners, the specialist endodontist, 2 dental nurses, the accounts manager and the head receptionist. We also spoke to the practice manager remotely.

People's experience of this service

Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 2 patients. On the day of our inspection, we collected patient feedback from a further 8 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

Comments included, “It is a pleasure coming to this practice.”

Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.

Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. One patient said, “Appointments available at very short notice. Polite and friendly reception and excellent surgical care.”

Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. One patient told us, “As a patient for over 60 years I have consistently received excellent advice and treatment which has improved in line with modern practices. The advice I continue to receive as an older patient is how to keep my teeth in good condition with the minimum intervention. I have absolute trust in the dentists at this practice.”

Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given.

The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
