Amathea care home is a purpose built home providing personal care for up to 40 people, including people living with dementia.
Accommodation is on two floors with lift and stair access.
At the time of our assessment 39 people resided at the home.
We assessed the quality statements from all key questions; safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led.
We found staff listened to concerns about safety and investigated and reported safety events. Lessons were learnt to continually identify and embed good practice.
Preadmissions were completed and the provider worked well with other agencies.
The home was clean and well maintained.
People told us they felt involved in decisions and were offered choice to maintain their independence and quality of life.
A clear staff and management structure was in place and people told us they felt the home was well run with supportive and visible management.
We found occasional records relating to the management of medicines needed some improvements.
