During a routine inspection

We used a number of different methods to help us understand the experiences of people using the service, because the people using the service had complex needs which meant they were not able to tell us their experiences. We spoke to staff and they told us that since the new manager had arrived things had 'changed for the better'. They said they felt supported by the company and that documented supervision sessions had commenced. One member of staff said 'we have been encouraged to speak out, and we have been listened to. We have seen some changes including an increase in staff on the shifts, and an allocation of work load so we know who's responsible for certain areas of peoples care.

We observed staff during the morning attending to people's needs. Staff were seen to reassure and redirect people; where ever possible helping people make choices.
