Date of assessment visit: 16 September 2025.
Wollaton View Care Home is a purpose-built care home providing accommodation for up to 46 people requiring nursing or personal care. At the time of our inspection, 44 people were living at the service. The accommodation was established over two floors. The ground floor was allocated for people with longer term care needs. On the first floor was a short stay assessment and rehabilitation unit, provided in partnership with a community NHS provider.
The ground floor provided a communal lounge and dining space for people with an accessible garden space. Wollaton View Care Home was last inspected on 30 October and 1 November 2023, (report published 11 December 2023.) During our last inspection of the service, we found the provider was in breach of regulations in relation to person centred care, safe care and treatment, good governance and staffing.
Improvements were found at this inspection, and the provider was no longer in breach of regulations.
The management audits required embedding to be fully effective, and to allow the management team to implement lessons learned. Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain competence. The provider had a positive culture, where people and their relatives could raise concerns and be listened to. The staff team understood the importance of ensuring safeguarding processes were followed to ensure people were not placed at risk of harm. Medicines were managed safely within the service, by trained and knowledgeable staff. People were supported to maintain good food and fluid intake. Staff showed kindness, compassion and empathy when supporting people. Staff understood people’s needs and responded promptly if a person was anxious or in distress.
