All Inspections

During a routine inspection

At the time of our visit, people who used the service were not available to speak with us; however we spent time speaking with staff in different roles and reviewing a range of documentation as part of this inspection. This included records of people's care and support needs, key policies and procedures and staff records. We found people were treated respectfully and given support to have their say in how they wanted to be helped and were supported to do the things they wanted to do. People experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs and protected their rights.

The people who accessed the service provided by Liverpool Mental Health Service were supported by staff who were appropriately recruited, well trained and experienced at supporting them. People were protected against the risks associated with medicines because the provider had appropriate arrangements in place to manage medicines. People's personal records were accurate and fit for purpose.

During a routine inspection

We spoke to people who used the service and staff. People said they were more than happy with the service they received. They were all very positive about the staff who supported them.

We observed a good rapport between the people who used the service and staff. Our observations indicated that staff were attentive and had a caring attitude towards the people who used the service. We looked at the records for four people to see how their needs should be met.

There were practices in place to ensure that the people who used the service were respected and that they were involved in the delivery of the service they received as far as this was possible.

The care being delivered was person centre because people who used the service were involved in their care. Reasonable processes were in place to ensure people were protected from harm and risk.

Staff said they support each other and the provider had policies and procedures in place to maintain their personal development.

People told us they were very happy with the service provided and told us the support was excellent. They told us they would tell the manager if they were not happy with the service provided. People told us that they had no concerns about the care and support provided.

There were systems in place to monitor the quality of the service.
