The provider worked with people and healthcare partners to understand what being safe meant to them and the best way to achieve that. Staff concentrated on improving people’s lives while protecting their right to live in safety, free from bullying, harassment, abuse, discrimination, avoidable harm and neglect. The provider shared concerns quickly and appropriately.

Staff were aware of the safeguarding procedure and the actions they had to take to ensure people lived safely and free from abuse. Their comments included, “I haven’t needed to raise any concerns however I would report suspicions of misconduct involving minors or vulnerable adults at work immediately to my senior and follow the necessary process.”

The provider made sure there were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff, who received effective support, supervision and development. They worked together well to provide safe care that met people’s individual needs.

There were enough staff to provide safe care, and people did not have to wait to receive the support they needed. Staff were trained to provide support to meet people’s health and care needs. The staff team worked well together and made sure people received the care they needed at the right time. One family member told us, “They (Staff) are superb. I cannot fault them. You can approach any of the staff with questions. If they cannot answer it, they find someone who can. Telephone contact is regular.”
