The provider promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing.

Staff encouraged people to make day to day choices and do as much as they could for themselves. People were supported to maintain and develop important relationships, and we observed people received visitors during our assessment. Family members told us they could visit at any time. One person said, “I can’t compliment the staff enough, it’s just like a family, they treat us all the same, they’re welcoming, kind and always ready to help.”

There was a wide variety of activities to suit everyone's needs thanks to the service's outstanding activity team. Large and small groups, one-on-one sessions, and community outreach were all part of this. One family member told us, “The staff go out of their way to make residents happy. All annual events are catered for brilliantly and the home and gardens are decorated to suit, and games and other entertainments are provided to a great standard.”

People told us how staff supported them to remain as independent as possible. One family member said, “[Person] is supported with their decision-making, although they are very dependent for both physical and emotional support, the staff try their utmost.”
