During an assessment under our new approach
Date of assessment: 22 August 2025 – 3 September 2025.
Green Acres is a care home for up to 6 people with a learning disability and autistic people. At the time of our assessment, 5 people lived at the home.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
We found the service was meeting this guidance, which meant people were supported in a way which maximised their dignity, choice and access to their local community.
Staff encouraged people to make choices about their care and how they lived their lives. They worked well with other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for people. This included following professional advice and guidance relating to people’s care.
Staff kept people’s needs under review, including their health, emotional, and communication needs. Feedback from people’s families was listened to and acted upon.
People lived in a safe, clean environment. There were always enough staff available to meet people’s needs. Staff attended safeguarding training and knew how to recognise and report abuse. People’s medicines were managed safely. Staff understood the importance of gaining people’s consent to their care.
Leaders and staff had a shared culture based on openness and trust. Staff understood their roles and responsibilities and there was a strong sense of teamwork. The provider supported staff wellbeing.
Staff had access to the induction, training and support they needed to do their jobs. Staff were supported to develop in their roles and to achieve further qualifications.
The provider’s governance systems helped ensure effective management oversight of the service. There was a service improvement plan in place, which was regularly monitored to ensure action was taken to address areas identified for improvement.
