We carried out this assessment on 13 June 2026.
Excellent Care Limited is a domiciliary care agency. The provider was also the registered manager. The service is registered to support older people, those with physical disabilities and sensory impairments.
This service was previously rated as good. We carried out this assessment to confirm whether the rating of good remains accurate. This report does not provide detailed information on areas where we found practice continues to meet a good standard. Instead, our findings focus on any areas where the service needs to improve or where we found exceptional practice.
People were supported by enough staff who had the skills and knowledge to support them safely. In the event of staff absence, there were processes in place to ensure the care call was covered by other staff. One member of staff told us, “If I call in sick, someone [staff] can cover.”
Risks were assessed and people were involved in the process. One member of staff told us a person they support, “[Person] uses a walking frame and I need to be with them when they move around. I am there just to support and be by their side.” There were effective systems in place to safeguard people from abuse.
Although no people were currently being supported with medicines, staff understood their responsibility around this. There were systems in place to ensure the environment was safe. For example, where people were at risk of falls staff would ensure the environment was clear of any trip hazards.
Appropriate documentation and knowledge were in place around consent. One member of staff told us, “I always ask permission from [person].” There were appropriate governance policies and procedures to support oversight and improvement of the service.
Care plans had information around the care routines. Staff we spoke with knew the people they were supporting.
