Date of assessment: 9 May to 12 June 2025

Social Care Solutions Ltd (Cambridge) provides personal care and support to people living in ‘supported living’ settings. The people lived in their own homes either on their own or in groups of up to 5 people sharing a house. The service provides support to people with mental health needs, people with a learning disability and autistic people. At the time of our assessment the service was providing personal care to 22 people living in 5 supported living settings.

We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

The staff team knew people’s communication needs and we observed people being offered choices. People were supported to be independent and in control of their activities.

People were supported to take part in hobbies and interests that they enjoyed.

Care plans included information on people’s goals and aspirations.

Risks to people had been assessed and staff knew the process to follow if they had a safeguarding concern.

Staff worked well with other professionals involved in people’s care. There were enough staff to support people safely. Staff were trained, skilled and flexible and treated people with kindness and respect.

People's experience of the service

Updated 24 April 2025

People told us that they could talk to staff and if they had concerns staff would listen and provide them with support. One person said "I can speak with the staff, or [the manager] if needed. I can call them, see them or send emails."

We observed staff treating people with respect and dignity and always asking people’s permission before entering their room.

People we spoke with told us they chose when they spoke to and saw family. They told us about activities that they chose to do at different times of the day and night. People’s rooms or flats were decorated how they liked it.

We observed people to be relaxed and content around staff and saw positive interactions between people and staff. One person said "I am happy with the staff. They are kind and really confident in their jobs.”
