Nightingale is a care home that provides accommodation, care and support for up to 12 younger adults, some of whom may be living with a learning disability and/or autism. At the time of inspection, there 10 people living in one adapted building. During the inspection we assessed all the quality statements under the key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. The inspection took place between 15 September and 16 September 2025. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. People received respectful support from staff, who encouraged them to make choices, maintain their independence, and live fulfilling lives. People had up-to-date risk assessments and care plans that reflected their needs and ensured safety. Staff confidently followed safeguarding procedures, knew how to raise concerns, and trusted the registered manager to act promptly and appropriately. The registered manager had a good knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). People can only be deprived of their liberty to receive care and treatment when this is in their best interests and legally authorised under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA). In care homes, and some hospitals, this is usually through MCA application procedures called the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). Legal authorisations were in place where required, and conditions were consistently met. Recruitment was safe, robust and values based. New staff received thorough inductions, with ongoing supervision. There was enough staff on duty to meet peoples’ needs safely. Staff spoke positively and were happy to work at Nightingale. A member of staff said, “The team is amazing. I enjoy every day. I love Nightingale, the people and the staff team.’’ Another staff commented, “Nightingale is homely and friendly. Everyone has people’s best interest at heart. We all work together.’’
