Planning for the future

Score: 3

People were supported to plan for important life changes, so they could have enough time to make informed decisions about their future, including at the end of their life.
Although some people we spoke to had not wanted to discuss end of life planning with the provider, they felt they would be able to when the time came.
Where relevant, people had end of life care plans in place. This would detail any advanced arrangements and preferences around their care. The provider was sensitive to work with families, professionals and other stakeholders to provide effective care. It was clear where a person had a DNACPR (Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) in place. The provider had appropriate policies in place to support end of life care.
Staff we spoke with were confident they knew what good end of life care was and had received appropriate training.
