Systems and processes were in place to keep people safe, and risks associated with people's care needs were assessed. There were enough staff to meet people's needs and recruitment processes and procedures were robust. Medicines were managed safely. Staff received training and supervision to perform their roles well.
People received effective care and support. People’s health conditions, including dietary needs and risks had been assessed and planned for. People were supported to access health services and had their health monitored. People’s nutritional needs were met. The service had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. The management team investigated incidents thoroughly and made sure staff received training and regular supervision to maintain high-quality care.
Leaders and staff had a shared vision and culture based on listening, learning and trust. Leaders were visible, knowledgeable, and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles. Staff felt supported to give feedback and were treated equally, free from bullying or harassment. People with protected characteristics felt supported. Staff understood their roles and responsibilities. There was a culture of continuous improvement with staff given time and resources to try new ideas. A number of staff incentives and awards were also in place.
