During a routine inspection

We spoke with five people who used the services at Quinn Clinic. People had positive views about the service and treatment they received at the clinic. Examples of comments we were told included, "I am very happy with everything," and "the doctor is streets ahead in his approach, they do things right they take a lot of time to do things in detail'.

The provider is also the doctor and registered manager at the clinic. People told us the doctor involved them in making decisions about their procedures. People were also provided with information to read about their particular treatments.

People told us they felt the care and support they received both before and after their treatment was thorough and professional in nature.

People were also able to view the provider's website for more information about the nature of the services that were provided. People told us the doctor explained procedures and any risks to them in a way they fully understood.

People received treatments from a doctor who was well qualified to undertake them. The doctor was also clinically supervised and appraised in their work.

The effectiveness of the treatments and the overall quality of service people received was checked and monitored. This ensured that it was safe and suitable.

During a routine inspection

Q Clinics was registered for the regulated activity services in slimming clinics, it was found at this visit that this is not being carried on. The provider confirmed that they were not offering any treatment or advice in regards to weight management.

Five people using the service were spoken with, also a nurse, the doctor and the personal assistant. The people using the service told us that they had received excellent care and had been consulted about their treatments and the alternatives that would be available to them.

One person said, 'I was given information during the consultation and then given time to decide what I wanted to do.' Another said, 'The care here is very good, the staff are great and I feel safe and trust them.'

People spoken with told us that they knew how to make a complaint and they were confident that the provider and the staff would respond and deal with their concerns.

It was confirmed that people using the service completed surveys. One person told us, 'I have been asked to complete a feedback form. I was also asked about my views when they moved office.'

The nurse told us that she was happy working at the clinic and confirmed that she was supported to keep up to date with her training.

We looked at five people's records and these confirmed that consent was always signed by the person receiving the care. Other information that was needed was written down at the time of the consultation and after each treatment.
