During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke with three people who used the service. The people we spoke with were all positive about the care and support they received. People told us they had been consulted about the care package they received and their support plans had been discussed with them.

People told us they had been given written information about the services the provider offered and were pleased with the standard of care and support they received. One person told us 'I am very happy with the service I receive, the staff have never let me down and are kind, considerate and caring." Another person said "The manager and staff are excellent I cannot praise them enough. I am really pleased I chose to live at The Beeches."

In addition to the manager we spoke with three care staff employed by the agency. The staff told us they enjoyed working for the agency and always provided care and support in line with their agreed care plan. Staff also told us there were clear lines of communication and accountability within the agency and they were supported through a planned programme of supervision and training.

During a routine inspection

During our visit we spoke with five people who lived in the flats within the complex and received personal care on a domiciliary care basis. All of the people we spoke with said that they were very happy with the care they received. These are some of the things they said:

"The girls are very good and very helpful"

"They are marvellous"

"Nothing is too much for them to do"

We also spoke with the relative of one person who told us that their relative had various medical conditions that carers "Managed very well" The person told us that their relative "Has absolute dignity here".

We spoke with two carers who told us that they received very good training and support from the registered manager and from more senior management. One of the carers said "We all feel such a part of it"

We saw that people lived independently in their own flats, for which they paid rent which included service charges. In addition people had the use of communal areas including laundry, lounge and dining facilities. Activities, a reception service and a coffee shop were provided by a team of volunteers.
