During a routine inspection

We found that Knight's Court had provided a homely environment and staff had supported people to maintain the health and to develop their independent living skills at a pace that suited their individual support needs. We found that staff considered people's diverse cultural needs and their personal preferences and helped them to decide on and work towards short and long term goals of their choosing.

We spoke with three of the five people using the service and all spoke positively about the service and the support they got from staff. Their comments to us included "If I have any concerns I talk to the manager and they sort it out for me", "I have learned how to eat healthily and how to cook healthy meals" and "It's good here. I am doing very well".

People had been supported to choose and prepare their own meals and to learn about safe food preparation and healthy eating. People told us they enjoyed their meals and were pleased with their progress towards greater independence in this area.

People were supported to manage their own medicines safely.

Staff had been supported to develop their skills and understanding of the people using the service by regular training and supervision. People told us that they found the staff to be 'helpful and caring'.

People told us that staff listened to their concerns and acted upon any complaints that they made.
