During a routine inspection

People said they received safe and effective assistance from the service in the way they wished. Their needs had been clarified and the service had developed a detailed support plan which was kept in the person's home. People said staff were skilled in giving assistance to them and always wrote in their records what support they had given. The provider had recruited staff who were trustworthy and had relevant experience and qualifications. There was a system in place to monitor and evaluate how staff assisted people. One person said 'they are an absolutely excellent service, the staff do exactly what I want them to. They are so lovely, I really look forward to their visits.'

People said the managers of the service were accessible and responsive which meant that they could easily make any necessary changes to the support they received. A relative told us 'I was very impressed when an extra visit was made to encourage them to eat their dinner.' The provider had ensured that they obtained up to date information on people's needs and their views of the service. This information had been used to improve the service and to ensure people's changing needs were met.

During a themed inspection looking at Domiciliary Care Services

We carried out a themed inspection looking at domiciliary care services. We visited four people in their own home and spoke with them and their relatives about their experiences of the support hat they received from Rosemont Care Ltd. We spoke with the manager and two of the care workers during our visits to the people receiving care in their homes.

The inspection team was lead by a CQC inspector joined by an Expert by Experience who has personal experience of using or caring for someone who uses this type of service. We used, telephone interviews and home visits to people who used the service and to their carers to gain views about the service.

Everyone spoke positively about the services provided by their care workers. Some of their comments included, 'I am happy with the carers most certainly,' and 'I am fine with everything that is done by the agency'.

People also said 'I tell them how I want my care and they do exactly as I ask' and 'I feel safe with the carers who support me. They are very interactive'. 'The carers are very professional and they talk to you' and 'Rosemont is the best care we have ever had'.
