During a routine inspection

We spoke to relatives of people the agency cared for this time and several staff. Relatives were pleased with the care provided and one relative had seen many changes for the better and knew some areas were still improving. A relative of a person new to the agency was very pleased that the staff were always polite and respectful. They told us, "I have learnt a lot from the staff" and they were impressed with how the staff responded to the person and that they were told about any changes. One relative told us that they had enjoyed going to the monthly Stakeholder Forum meetings, which were held by the agency for anyone to attend and be able to influence improvements and voice concerns.

We found there were a lot of improvements in how the agency was organised and that there were plans for further improvements to help ensure people had their calls on time and had continuity of care. The staff were well trained and they felt well supported to care for people in their own home.

Quality assurance checks had been completed to help continually improve the service. Complaints had been taken seriously and recorded correctly to ensure action was taken to people's satisfaction

During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people that use the agency or a relative that lives with them. At the agency office we spoke to three care workers, a member of the agency office staff and the manager. We were able to speak to the provider following our visit, who gave us additional information. People or their families were generally satisfied with the care received and told us, "the agency is totally fine, brilliant", "staff treat me respectfully", "I am happy with everything, the staff are very polite", "they are a brilliant team now" and "the girls that come now are experienced". There had been some difficulty with a new computer system and people were sometimes unsure which care worker would be completing their care and sometimes staff were late and people had to call the agency office. However, people told us that their complaints were taken seriously and acted upon.

During a routine inspection

We spoke to several people using the service and two relatives on the telephone and they told us; "the staff treat me with respect and don't talk about other people to me", "the staff always ask my permission before they start giving care and treat me well". One person told us that the agency always informs them if a new member of care staff is coming.

A relative told us that the person who has dementia talks freely to the staff and seems to enjoy the care staff's company. They also told us that the staff treat them with dignity and respect.

People told us they were pleased with the agency and felt safe with the care staff.

People knew how to raise concerns and told us the agency dealt with them quickly.
