Updated 4 April 2025
Date of assessment 10 April to 25 April 2025. Olive Tree House is a care home registered to provide accommodation, nursing, and personal care for up to 65 people. The service provides support, respite, and nursing care to older people and those who are living with dementia. The building was purpose built, with accessible accommodation spread over 3 floors. We assessed the quality statements in safe. At our last assessment, the provider was in breach of the regulation in relation to safe care and treatment. At this assessment we found enough improvement had been made and the provider was no longer in breach of regulation. The areas we did not look at during this assessment remain good.
People were supported to live meaningful lives. Risks to people were well managed. Systems were in place to ensure people were protected from the risks of harm and abuse. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications, and experience. There was regular contact with health professionals such as GPs to ensure people’s healthcare needs were met and the medicines they received were appropriate to their needs.
Personal emergency evacuation plans (to be used in the event of a fire) on the care planning system required more detail, although this detail was present in the fire grab bag. The provider had a good learning culture and people felt able to raise concerns. The management team investigated incidents thoroughly. The facilities and equipment met people’s needs and were clean and well-maintained. We received feedback which showed the team worked closely with other professionals and partners to ensure people’s needs were met and the safety of those that live at Olive Tree House was prioritised.
