During a routine inspection

We observed care and we spoke with three patients by telephone after our visit. They told us they were all happy with the care and treatment they received and the way in which it was delivered. One person told us, "I think the care is really good here and the staff are lovely".

Patients told us their privacy, dignity and independence were respected. Patient's views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their care. We noted patient's consent was obtained before care and treatment was undertaken. Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure patient's safety and welfare. There were arrangements and equipment in place to deal with medical emergencies. Patients who use the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and to report concerns to the appropriate authorities. We saw that there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. We noted staff received appropriate professional development and were offered training relevant to the needs of the patients they were treating. We also found that systems were in place for patients and relatives to make a complaint about the service if necessary.

During a routine inspection

We spoke to people using the service, to staff including the receptionist, two dental nurses and two of the dentists, one of whom was the provider.

People that used the clinic told us that they were happy with the service provided. They felt they were given enough information about their treatment options and the relevant fees. They told us they were able to ask all the questions they wanted to.

They found the staff to be friendly and told us that they were treated with respect and their privacy was maintained.

Staff told us the service was a happy and supportive place to work and that they worked hard to provide the service people want.
